Ways you can help the sanctuaryThere are various ways you can help the sanctuary including in-kind donations, monetary contributions and labor assistance. This page will provide information on areas that we could use some help in and will be updated frequently. At the bottom of the page there will eventually be a link through which you can make a secure contribution via the internet. If you wish to volunteer at the sanctuary, please do so by filling out and sending us the Volunteer Questionnaire form. We acknowledge the generosity of the following on behalf of the sanctuary:
Feed Storage ShedThe sanctuary needs a waterproof 8 x 12 foot feed shed to be built in close proximity to the barn for hay, grain, hoof trimmers, medication, donkey bridles, fly repellent, bedding, and other supplies for the animals. If you can make a financial contribution toward this construction project, your help will be greatly appreciated. Please contact us by email here. ![]() Chicken ShelterThe chickens at the sanctuary need a sturdy shelter for their nesting boxes and roosting bars. Currently, a plastic canopy is being used, but it scares the chickens away when it flaps in the wind. A new 12' x 12' prefabricated shelter costs $5,173. If you can make a donation, please email us here. ![]() Duck PondThe sanctuary has received numerous calls about ducks in need of rescue. Ducks need to be able to swim for their health and happiness. If you can help us build a pond for ducks, we will be able to provide refuge for them. Please email us here.
DroughtDue to an extended lack of rainfall, the goats' and donkey's pasture has
become severely overgrazed. There are approximately 2 acres of additional land on the property that has not yet been fenced. To contribute financially or to provide labor for fencing, please email us here.
Rain Gutters Needed for BarnPlease help the sanctuary fund the installation of rain gutters on the barn
so that the goats and donkeys can stay dry during the rain. We also need a
carpenter to mount fascia boards on which to attach the gutters. If you can
donate your skills or make a monetary contribution, please contact us. ![]() Concrete Apron Needed to Remedy Mud ProblemStanding in mud can cause hoof rot in the goats and donkeys. The mud problem
can be eliminated by pouring a concrete apron around the perimeter of the
barn. Donations are needed to fund this project. Please email us here. ![]() Painter NeededIf you have experience with masking, sanding and painting, we would greatly appreciate your help!
