Jenny had been living on a nearby farm where she was loved and well cared for,
but when her horse companion died she became deeply depressed. Unwilling to
let her continue suffering from loneliness, Marilyn (her "mom") brought to
Leilani Farm Sanctuary to be with Lehua the donkey who had also recently
lost her companion. The two donkeys became fast friends and developed a
close bond. Jenny still gets regular visits from Marilyn, who lavishes her
and the other animals with treats and affection, and generously sponsors
Jenny's retirement at the sanctuary.
